Bueschers Honored By M.S. Society For Longtime Community Service

Two of Grand Junction's leading citizens were honored Thursday night at the Fifth Annual Dinner of Champions hosted by the Western Slope Office of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

A crowd of 200 people was on hand at the Doubletree Hotel to honor Mary Beth and State Representative Bernie Buescher, who won the 2005 Hope Award for their outstanding community service.

The Bueschers have been committed to family, church, community, and the State of Colorado for decades, and family members were with them for the 2005 Dinner of Champions, an evening dedicated to one day finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

11 News Anchor Rick Thurtle emcee'd the event, that featured a video tribute to the Bueschers made by Focus Productions from Grand Junction.

Past Hope Award winners include Joe and Teo Prinster, Gene Taylor, Pat Bishop, and Doug and Jamee Simons.
