Two people suffered life threatening injuries when two trucks collided in a busy intersection in Grand Junction Sunday. The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 6 & 50 and the Interstate 70 interchange. According to Grand Junction police spokesperson Kris Olsen the accident occurred when a Ford Ranger pick–up truck with two male passengers turned in front of a Dodge pick–up truck which broadsided the Ford. The Ford spun and struck the traffic light and one of the two passengers was ejected from the vehicle. The two men in the Ford Ranger were not wearing seatbelts. Emergency personnel transported the two men to St. Mary's Hospital in critical condition. Two other men in the Dodge were also transported to St. Mary's as a precaution.
