Snow is melting rapidly on the Grand Mesa causing flooding problems in some areas of Mesa County. In some places along Plateau Creek, the water is slightly higher than the banks and water is starting to move into fields.
Residents in low lying areas near Plateau Creek should experience more flooding over the next 24 to 36 hours. The National Weather Service predicts Plateau Creek will likely peak late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
In addition, Mesa County officials are keeping a close eye on a low bridge near Colbrann because the water has risen to within a foot of the bottom of the bridge.
