Only two more days until the 2005 Junior College World Series gets underway kicking off the summer tourism season in the Grand Valley. The Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau is especially excited about this year's world series. Of the field of ten teams, only one team is returning from last year, and four of the teams have never been to JUCO.
The G.J.V.C.B. is teaming up with community service clubs to make sure the first time visitors take in all the events and attractions that make Western Colorado one of the best vacation spots in the nation. The Visitor and Convention Bureau reports JUCO brings upwards of $500,000 into the Grand Junction economy each year.
Hotels in Grand Junction are reaching full occupancy, and the bureau is taking calls for people who are having trouble trying to find accommodations.
