State Patrol Out In Full Force Memorial Day Weekend

Traffic is expected to be busy on the Western Slope this holiday weekend and police will be out in full force trying to keep our roadways safe. As part of the Colorado Target Zero Program, every uniformed officer with the Colorado State Patrol will be on duty.

The program starts at midnight, Thursday, and continues through Monday at midnight. Officers will be on the lookout for drunk and aggressive drivers. In Mesa County, all 28 troopers will participate in saturation patrols, specifically in the areas of the I-70 Business Loop and Interstate 70.

Last year the Colorado State Patrol issued 18,000 citations statewide during the Target Zero Campaign. Also, the Click It or Ticket campaign also continues this weekend. Officers will be out in full force making sure motorists are buckled up for safety.
