2 Palisade Train Crash Victims Identified, 2 Others Hospitalized

The four oil workers involved in Thursday's fatal train accident in Palisade have been identified. The driver Warren Scott, 37 of Loma, and passenger Keith Hampton, 38 of Grand , Junction, were killed on impact near G.7 Road.

23–year–old Justin Robert Coan, and David Snyder, 34, were sitting in the backseat. Both men were admitted to Saint Mary's Hospital.

Witnesses say the truck hesitated at a stop sign, but then attempted to cross the tracks. The train pushed the truck more than 100 yards before it was able to stop.

Officials say only one of the victims was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
