Third Best Ski Season Ever In Colorado, 11.8 Million Skiers

11.8 million people hit the slopes of Colorado ski areas last winter, making it the third best season ever for the state's resorts. That's more than 550,000 visits over the 2003–2004 season.

A weaker dollar overseas also drew more foreign skiers, with an additional 200,000 international visitors hitting the slopes. The United Kingdom topped the list of people making a trip to Colorado with an increase of 31%.

Next season could see resorts set a record–breaking 12 million visitors. Industry experts say an improving economy and targeted advertising could bring a record–breaking 12 million visitors to Colorado next winter.
