According to officials, traffic is the biggest concern among citizens attending a public meeting Wednesday night on the construction of the new Bookcliff Middle School. Mesa County School District 51 held a public meeting concerning the construction of Bookcliff Middle School and road work planned in the area.
The new plans map out the extension of 29 1/4 Road from Kennedy Avenue to Orchard Avenue. Several citizens attended the meeting and overal feedback centered around traffic. Officials with the city say this was the last public meeting on the construction of roads and the new school.
Representatives with both the city and the school district were on hand to answer questions. The new Bookcliff Middle School is slated to open this fall while construction on 29 1/4 Road will not start until next spring.
