Grand Junction-Mesa County police are still on the lookout for a man who robbed a bank in Clifton, Wednesday. The man walked into the U.S. Bank in the Coronado Plaza before noon, said he had a bomb, and demanded money.
he walked out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, and from there authorities are still trying to determine if he left the scene on foot, or in a vehicle.
Sheriff's investigators were getting help from witnesses who are working on a composite sketch of the suspect. Authorities were also looking over surveillance tapes in an effort to get a picture of the man out to the public.
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is still releasing very few details about the device recovered from inside the bank by the Grand Junction Bomb Squad. The F.B.I. is assisting in the investigation and authorities say they believe the suspect is most likely a local man.
