The non–profit land development arm of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce broke new ground in drawing the Western Slope office of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to Grand Junction. Industrial Developments Incorporated is a not–for–profit organization offering land at low–cost to businesses interested in moving to the Grand Valley.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation found a piece of property North of 3D Systems ideal for it's needs, partly because of a location adjacent to Walker Field Airport. Chamber of Commerce President Diane Schwenke says Industrial Developments Incorporated also sweetened the pie with an unprecedented deal for the bureau.
Schwenke says easy access to Interstate 70 also played a part in the bureau's decision to choose Grand Junction for a base of operations.
She says I.D.I. has an advantage over other real estate agencies in that it can affort to hold the property for the estimated year it will take for the bureau of investigation's move to be approved by the state legislature.
