Armey Accepts Challenge To Debate TABOR Changes

Denver (AP) Former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey and
Governor Owens have agreed to debate Referendum C, which will ask voters in November to loosen the financial reins on the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights, or TABOR, for five years.

However, Owens rejected the topic proposed by a public policy
group co–chaired by Armey called Freedomworks that asks, "is the
Referendum C tax increase good for Colorado?"

Owens says the question isn't correct because the measure is not
a tax increase. A time and place for the debate haven't been decided yet.

Armey is visiting Colorado on Tuesday to help plan opposition reserved.
