Grand Junction Experiencing Record Rainfall For The Month Of June
June is traditionally the driest month of the year in the Grand Valley, but this year the western slope has almost an inch more rain than normal and the rain isn't expected to let up any time soon. Meterologist Jim Pringle of the National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms are expected in the area Saturday and Sunday. He doesn't expect the storms to be too intense, but safety precautions should be taken by people planning to be outdoors. So far Grand Junction has seen a record amount of rainfall for the month of June. As of noon Saturday the weather service measured 1.27 inches, normally in June we only receive .35 inches.
