New Teen Driving Restrictions Go In To Effect July 1st

Newly licensed teens in Colorado will have new driving regulations starting July 1st. Senate bill 36 prohibits newly licensed drivers from driving during certain hours and carrying passengers under the age of 21. Drivers under the age of 18 who have had a license for less than 6 months cannot have passengers under the age of 21 in their cars, unless it's a member of their immediate family. For the remainder of the first year, the teens can only have one person under 21 in their vehicle at a time. In addition minors will no longer be allowed to drive between midnight and 5 AM. Also part of the new law if a driver under the age of 18 is pulled over they are issued an advisory that must be taken home and signed by a guardian.
