It's official. The first Palisade peaches of 2005 are for sale in the east end of the Grand Valley. Herman Produce in Palisade put the first group of Paul Friday Variety peaches on the shelves Monday afternoon.
The P.F. 1 variety becomes mature earlier than others that we will enjoy later this summer across the valley.
Bruce Herman, owner of Herman Produce, says this season is going to be a good one for growers in our area.
Herman adds, this year's apricot crop will be average and that the cherry season may be coming to an end, possibly as soon as this weekend.
