Marble (AP) One person was killed Wednesday when a single–engine plane crashed in Western Colorado. Gunnison County Sheriff's officials say one person was on board when the plane went down near Marble, which is about 120 miles southwest of Denver.
The crash was reported around 1:35 p.m., but no other details were available. The Federal Aviation Administration says the cause of the crash is under investigation, and a National Transportation Safety Board investigator was heading to the scene.
Authorities were withholding the victim's name until family
could be notified. The fixed–wing, single–engine Taylorcraft BC12–D was registered to John P. Kramer of Washington, Michigan.
F.A.A. Spokesman Mike Fergus says he doesn't know whether Kramer was on the plane.
