Five Denver residents were taken to the hospital after their car rolled on Interstate 70 near the Utah border in Mesa County, Thursday. Two adults, with three children on their way to Las Vegas for a wedding, were injured when their minivan went off the highway.
The people in the minivan, as well as an eyewitness, said the vehicle was starting to pass a tractor–trailer truck when the semi drifted into the left lane. The minivan veered off the left side of the road and rolled once, as the driver steered back onto the highway.
The driver's head hit the pavement when the roof partially collapsed. He was taken to the hospital with head injuries. At least one small child in the van broke an arm in the crash, and others in the van had various injuries, none believed to life threatening.
Everyone in the minivan was wearing seatbelts. No charges are expected to be filed in the crash.
