A total of 23 wildfires ignited Monday in Colorado. Tuesday, crews had them under control. One at the Rio Blanco River near Pagosa Springs has burned 650 acres in the San Juan National Forest.
Fire crews are letting the fire run its course in order to burn up dry brush and leaves. Officials say that tactic will help to prevent future fires and reserve resources.
The fire is believed to have been started by lightning on June 23.
No structures are threatened, according to authorities.
