Grand Junction-The foundation for a large scale retail store and movie theatre is set to be poured next month in the Grand Valley. Construction on the new Canyon View Marketplace will start soon and will be home to a 135,000 square foot retail store.
The name of the national retailer that will be moving in is not being released, but Marc McPherson with Ascent Commercial Development, says the Grand Valley will be happy with the choice.
The Canyon View Marketplace will be located directly east of 24 Road behind Boston's Pizza, north of the Mesa Mall. The retail store will be on a 12 acre parcel of land south of where the movie theatre will be.
The entire 30 acre Canyon View Marketplace project will include a nine acre Regal Entertainment movie theatre with 14 screens and ultra–modern stadium seating.
There will also be eight acres of free standing shops and restaurants on 24 Road in front of the theatre. Dirt is scheduled to be hauled in within a month so that site work can begin.
