Effective August 1st, Corrine Nystrom will no longer be the Airport Manager of Walker Field Airport in Grand Junction. Nystrom is leaving her position and is moving on to be Airport Director for Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona. Falcon Field is the 11th largest general aviation airport in the United States.
Nystrom has worked for Walker Field since 1986 and has been the manager since 1996.
Walker Field Spokesperson Charlie Novinskie says that during Nystrom's 9 years as manager, the airport has seen a double digit increase in passenger traffic, a new boarding area, an expansion at the terminal, and the successful recruitment of Twin Otter Aviation.
The Airport Board is launching a nationwide search to find a new Airport Manager.
