At a time when it needs it most, Mesa State College receives a record amount of monetary gifts. The college announced Thursday it raised more than $2.4 million dollars through private gifts and endowments.
It's the largest single year total in Mesa State's history. The funds come at a time when the college is facing more budget cuts at the state level. College President Tim Foster says these gifts will directly impact students' lives through scholarships and improvements to the college's facilities.
A million dollars more was raised this year than the college averaged each of the past five years.
