Southern Colorado Wildfire Forces More Evacuations

A wildfire in southern Colorado continued to burn out of control Saturday forcing dozens of people from their homes. The Mason fire more than tripled in size throughout the day Friday and is now an estimated two thousand acres. Temperatures climbing to near one hundred degrees and gusty winds hampered firefighters' efforts to get a handle on the blaze. Flames have come to within one hundred yards of the small community of Greenwood. 50 families in the area have already fled their homes and another 40 are on alert. About 400 firefighters are struggling against the hot temperatures and gusty winds. At around noon Saturday authorities estimated only one percent of the fire was contained.
