Hazardous Material crews were called to a rural highway in Silt, Monday, after a semi rolled over and spill crude oil along County Road 331 at Dry Hollow. The accident happened a little after noon.
Hazmat crews, Burning Mountain Fire and Rescue, and Westcare ambulances all responded to the incident. One home was evacuated and the road was shut down.
Contractors from T.D. Production were assisting in the cleanup,
but at around 4:00 p.m. they were also evacuated. Crews expected to have the road shut down for a minimum of six to eight hours.
The extent of any injuries was unknown late Monday.
