There is a chance some area Red Cross volunteers will be sent to aid with both Hurricane Dennis victims, as well as the wildfires in Pueblo County. The Western Colorado Red Cross chapter Monday received requests for volunteers.
Although no one has been sent yet, the call has gone out and now the Wwestern Colorado chapter is waiting to hear back from its volunteers. For the Mason Fire, the Red Cross is asking our local chapter to send a government liason who would coordinate Red Cross services with the governing agency on the fire.
The American Red Cross is looking for 500 more volunteers for Hurricane Dennis clean–up, which will add to the already 1,000 volunteers they have stationed there.
The local chapter currently has 53 certified volunteers and 23 more that are not certified, available to aid wherever they are needed.
