Energy Company Giving Incentives To Lower Electricity Use

Nearly any home can become more energy efficient according to the Delta–Montrose Electric Association and they are having a contest to prove it. The association is partnering with the Colorado Energy Science Center to find ten D.-M.E.A. member homes with higher–than average energy bills.

They will become eligible to receive a home energy makeover worth up to $25,000. In addition to getting upgraded insulation, window sealing, and other utility–bill–lowering work, winners can also get new energy–saving appliances.

The Delta–Montrose Electric Association hopes to use this contest to show others how much money can be saved by using energy efficiently.

If you live in the D.-M.E.A. service area you can get more information on contest rules in local newspapers, alpine bank and weststar bank, as well as D-.M.E.A. offices.

The contest deadline is August 31st.
