Organizers hope the big yellow school bus parked in the Clock Court at Mesa Mall is filled with supplies soon, as Stuff the Bus for the Teacher's Supply Closet 2005, gets underway.
Each year teachers spend on average more than $450 dollars of their own money on school supplies. Much of that money to help low–income families.
Last year, Mesa Mall and co–sponsors Laidlaw Transportation and MIX 104.3 collected enough supplies for 24 elementary schools and 300 students. Last year, they collected enough supplies for 24 elementary schools and 300 students.
Teacher's supply gift cards are also available for people who cannot decide what item is most appropriate to donate. Those cards can be picked up at the mall service desk.
