The Town of Collbran is in need of employees after five people resigned in the last two days. Discord between the town's employees and the board of trustees leads to the resignation of all but two of the town's staff.
According to Mayor John Blady, Town Administrator Bruce Smith quit during a trustees' meeting Tuesday night. Then during another meeting Wednesday night the town's Clerk, Shirley Nichols, Public Works Director Eric Lloyd, Utilities Billing Clerk Suzanne Belotti and Public Works employee Keith Encke all resigned from their posts.
Three of the five will receive severance packages. Trustee Tammy Entwistle will serve as the town's clerk until a permanent replacement is hired.
The mayor says the board is planning to discuss consolidating employee positions before the hiring process begins, so the total number of new staff needed has yet to be determined.
