Mesa County-A Grand Junction woman missing in a rugged area of Mesa County has been found following a massive search and rescue effort, Friday. Brooke Rice, 20, was reported missing at about 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
She was on a day hike with friends when she became ill. Her companions left her to get water from her car and when they returned she was missing.
After an all night search additional resources of the volunteer Mesa County Search and Rescue Team were brought in, including an airplane, two teams from the Mesa County Mounted Posse, two ground teams, and two A.T.V. teams.
A helicopter brought in mid–afternoon finally located Rice. She was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction for treatment.
