An SUV involved in a roll over crash on Orchard Mesa Saturday turns out to be stolen. A registration check of the 1995 Ford Explorer revealed it had recently been stolen from Montrose County. The Colorado State Patrol identified the driver as Thomas Higgs of Naturita. He was charged with a number of offenses including aggravated motor vehicle theft and driving under the influence of alcohol. Following the crash one passenger was air–lifted to St. Mary's Hospital and held for temporary observation, while the other three were transported via ambulance for minor injuries. The Colorado State Patrol and Montrose County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating the crash and the stolen vehicle report.
