With more than $100–million of unclaimed property throughout Colorado, State Treasurer Mike Coffman is taking measures to make sure the rightful owners are notified. The program is called the Great Colorado Payback and to ensure the more than 500,000 people who may not know they have this property the state treasurer's office has compiled a website listing the people with unclaimed assets. The assets include everything from a forgotten bank account to money left by a deceased friend or relative. There is no fee to claim property and over the past 15 years the state's unclaimed property program has returned more than $120–million.
