Denver (AP) Colorado Attorney General John Suthers says mortgage and foreclosure fraud is on the rise and he wants to do more to help those who are must vulnerable. Thursday he formed a task force of prosecutors, county clerks, mortgage brokers and others to come up with some solutions and help educate the public about such scams.
Suthers says many victims of foreclosure and mortgage fraud are either first time home buyers, elderly or spanish–speaking. One possible solution is making sure law enforcement and regulators work together.
