Police Surround House To Arrest Man, Now Faces Assault, Gun Charges

Grand Junction police surrounded the house of a man who tried to elude authorites Wednesday, now he faces several charges. According to police and witnesses, Lonnie Lockwood, 36, supposedly entered the residence of Jaime Bogane located at 641 30 Road by force, then assaulted him with a pistol–grip shotgun.

Police say the incident may stem from an alleged assault that had happened the night before.

At around 8:00 a.m. a Mesa County Sheriff's Deputy spotted Lockwood, who then ran off as other units arrived on scene. When police surrounded Lockwood's home shortly thereafter, the suspect came out and was arrested peacefully by a joint police effort.

Lockwood faces five charges, including 2nd degree assault and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
