The 2005 Junior College World Series kicked off the summer tourism season in May and this week another world series is in town and the Grand Valley continues to flourish economically.
According to Debbie Kovalik, the Executive Director of the Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau, they've been trying to convience the Triple Crown World Series to move the tournament to Grand Junction.
The week long tournament brings 34 teams and 1,600 people from out–of–town to the Grand Valley. Kovalik says the economic impact Triple Crown has on the community is greater than that of JUCO.
Kovalik adds that it looks the Triple Crown World Series will return to the Grand Valley next year.
