The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration arrived at the crash site in the desert north of Grand Junction Sunday to begin its investigation into a fatal plane crash. 58–year–old Richard Kellar was killed when his small aircraft went down shortly after take–off from a Walker Field runway. He was the only person on board the single–engine Bellanca. Initial reports said the plane's engine lost power shortly after becoming airborne, crashing into a ravine about a mile west of the runway. While investigators are at the site further information is not being released surrounding either the investigation or the cause of the crash.
