A trailer on Orchard Mesa remained under the guard of a Grand Junction Police Officer Tuesday morning, as investigators continued to look into the death of a three–month-old infant Monday night.
According to police reports, the father and child were sleeping when the father woke to found the baby not breathing. Efforts by a neighbor to revive the child were not successful and the infant was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Sergeant Paul Quimby with the police department says securing the scene overnight is routine and necessary until investigators have all the information they need.
He says there is still no reason at this time to suspect foul play in the incident.
