The Delta County Sheriff's Department seized more than $6 million dollars worth of marijuana plants from a field near Cedaredge, Wednesday. Sheriff's officials with the help of the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and the National Guard carried out the eradication mission.
The growth of marijuana contained more than 3,000 plants in the area of Oak Creek west of Cedaredge. Authorities recovered three handguns and other evidence at camp sites set up around the crops.
Sheriff's officials are still trying to find the growers. They are asking anyone with information about the suspects to call 874–2000.
