Denver (AP) Colorado's congressional delegation is bragging
that it got one of the biggest increases of any state in the recent $286 billion–dollar highway funding bill. The bill includes $50 million dollars for restoring Union Station in downtown Denver, $47 million dollars for various transit groups, and even 9$ million dollars for work on Wolf Creek Pass, but the plan also includes some oddities that could force the state to cut some of its projects.

There's the so–called "Bridge to Nowhere" in Glenwood Springs that would cost $6.2 million dollars, while another $6 million dollars is earmarked for a bypass in Montrose.

State Transportation Director Tom Norton says Glenwood Springs and Montrose went around state planners and asked members of Congress for help, bumping projects that have been on state highway planning lists for years.
