After serving Mesa County residents and the 21st Judicial District for years, Tuesday, Chief Judge Nicholas Massaro announced he will retire on December 31st. Judge Massaro was appointed by Governor Roy Romer seventeen years ago as a District Court Judge. A little less than a year ago he was appointed to Chief Judge.
Massaro says he has loved his time working as a judge, but when the opportunity to retire was put before him, he just couldn't turn it down.
Judge Massaro says the community should be proud of the justice center employees. He says they are all committed to their job and work hard for Mesa County.
