The Mesa County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday the fire ban that's been in place since July 20th will be lifted on Friday. The National Weather Service is predicting that humidity and moisture levels will be above average for the next month.
That's why starting Friday the fire ban is being removed, but officials say although the immediate concern has lessened, the fuels are dry and the potential for fire still exists.
They warn people to take the proper safety precautions.
