Construction Underway On Dual Language School In Riverside Township

After several years of planning a dual language academy breaks ground in one of Grand Junction's oldest neighborhoods allowing students to learn in both English and Spanish. Mesa County School District 51 board members, along with teachers, parents and students came out for the groundbreaking Tuesday morning.

Riverside Task Force founder Linda Villa said the school reflects the years of hard work put into the project by the task force, as well as the school board. The dual language is being built in the shadow of Riverside Elementary School and should helps revitalize the Riverside area.

The academy will eventually house kintergarten through fifth grade students and is scheduled to open in March of next year.
