Mesa State College recieved some extra funding Wednesday morning from the Mesa County Commissioners totalling $1 million dollars. At a morning ceremony the county commissioners presented Mesa State College's trustees with a check to assist with campus expansion.
For the next ten years, starting in 2006, the college will receive $100,000 a year. That ammount doubles the county's previous commitment to the college of $50,000 anually.
Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland said the county's support of the college is crucial right now.
The college will use the grant to obtain property for future campus expansion.
