Controversial Nightclub Keeps Liquor License, Changing Names

The Bourbon Street nightclub will keeps its liquor license, but not its name. The nightclub at the corner of 5th Street and North Avenue in Grand Junction will reopen with a new name and a new look.

During a two hour hearing before the city liquor licensing board Wednesday, the owners were approved for a name change, interior renovation and new management.

According to the city clerk's office the new name will be Midnight Rodeo.

The bar has been a point of contention for residents who live nearby and many voiced their concerns about noise, parking and trash to the board. The nightclub gets to keep its conditional liquor license, which will come up for review quarterly.

The next review hearing is scheduled for October 19th.
