For the second time this month a traffic accident in Grand Junction has claimed a life. A two–car crash at the intersection of 28 1/4 Road and Patterson Road caused a sports utility vehicle to roll, ejecting the driver. Grand Junction investigators are continuing to look into a crash that killed a Grand Valley woman Friday morning.
Preliminary information from the Grand Junction Police Department shows that the driver of a northbound Ford Probe may have run the light at 28 1/4 Road. That car ran into the side of a Jeep Cherokee, which rolled onto its roof in the west–bound lane and ejected the driver.
The driver of the Ford was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, her condition was unknown Friday afternoon.
Westbound traffic on Patterson Road was diverted for three hours so police investigators could complete their work.
