All lanes of Interstate–70 that were closed because of the rockslides west of Idaho Springs, are open again. All week, the westbound lanes of I–70 had been closed along a four mile stretch between Idaho Springs and Dumont because of a series of rockslides last weekend.
Throughout the week, crews blasted to remove any other weak rock. They then installed temporary rock wall fencing. CDOT says there is more work to be done down the road.
There will likely be scheduled closures at some point as they work on a permanent fix.
