As thousands of college students return to the University of Colorado in Boulder for another school year, police are keeping a watchful eye. Boulder police plan to have more patrol officers in neighborhoods surrounding CU's campus and swat units are also on alert to stop any problems that may quickly get out of hand. Over the weekend, Boulder police confiscated several kegs and passed out nearly 50 alcohol–related tickets along with six nuisance party citations. The city is also trying to cut down on the trash left by students moving in, reminding property owners that they can pay a fee to have trash hauled away.
