The Colorado Division of Wildlife is looking for a person responsible for illegaly killing an antelope over the weekend.
The incident happened south of the Bookcliffs, about five miles from Walker Field Airport in Grand Junction.
A D.O.W. spokesperson says that because the carcass of the animal was found decapitated, it appears the suspect shot the antelope in the roadway, kept its head and then left the animal to rot.
The D.O.W. encourages anyone with information about this case to contact Operation Game Thief at 877–COLO-OGT. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court. Rewards are offered for information which leads to an arrest or citation.
