U.S. Representative Bob Beauprez, (R) Colorado, says he's definitely running for Governor in 2006. He was in Grand Junction Thursday talking with local officials and the public to share the official news the he will run. The congressman stopped by the Farmer's Market in Grand Junction and told 11 News Reporter Natalie Pallone that he is definitely in the race.
Representative Beauprez says one of the main issues his campaign will focus on is the topic of illegal immigrants in the workplace. He says businesses that employ illegal immigrants should face tough penalties and the government should provide incentives for undocumented immigrants to turn themselves.
Along with immigration, Beauprez says he will focus on the economy of the state by addressing issues of transportation, water, education, health care and job opportunities.
