Woman Charged In Connection WIth Fatal Car Accident

Friday morning the Grand Junction Police Department arrested the driver of a car involved in a fatal accident last week.
Christy Buescher, 39, was taken into custody and booked at the Mesa County Jail. She faces charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of drugs and running a red traffic light.

The two car accident happened on August 19th at the intersection of 28 1/4 Road and Patterson Road. Buescher was driving east on Patterson at about 60 miles per hour when she ran a red light and crashed into a Jeep Cherokee going north on 28 1/4 Road.

The driver of the Jeep, 26–year–old Stanna Lindholm, died at the scene of the accident. An investigation showed Buescher had cocaine and opiates in her system at the time of crash.

Her bond is set at $20,000.
