A Grand Junction man looses his life late Saturday night when he's thrown from his motorcycle during a collision with a car. The fatal crash happened just before 11 P.M. east of 32 Road on the I–70 Business Loop in Clifton. According to the Colorado State Patrol, 39–year–old Charles Byron Shilling was driving his motorcycle east on the business loop when a Geo Prism driven by 18–year–old Jennifer Smith pulled out of the Murdoch's parking lot into his path. Shilling was ejected over the hood of the car onto the road. He was transported to St. Mary's hospital where he was pronounced dead. Smith was also transported to the hospital where she was treated and released Sunday. The crash is still being investigated but, the Colorado State Patrol does not think alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed were factors in the accident.
