People interested in the inner workings of local government may want to enroll in a new class presented by the Mesa County Commissioners. "Inside Mesa County, Know Your Government" is a four–week course beginning October 18th that will teach interested residents about the various facets of county government and how it touches their lives.
The course includes presentations from Mesa County's elected officials and department heads and will also take attendees on tours of the Mesa County Justice Center and other facilities.
County Commissioner Tilman Bishop says people should recognize how county government fits with city, state and federal agencies.
Only 20 applicants will be accepted for the first class. If more people are interested additional classes will be scheduled later.
For more information on the class call Mesa County Public Relations Director Jessica Peterson at 244–1640.
