Enrollment Numbers At Mesa State Encouraging This Year

Overall enrollment numbers are down slightly at Mesa State College this semester, but the school's president says the number of full–time students is up and that is a good sign for the future. This fall semester 6,015 students enrolled. This is a slight decrease from last year's 6,181.

Mesa State President Tim Foster says the number of traditional full time students is up 2.5% and 4.5% more of the incoming freshman are full–time students.

As for the decline in the overall enrollment at Mesa State College President Foster says it's because of a drop in part–time non-traditional students who he believes are now working in the Grand Valley's growing job market.
